U. S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) provides Form I-9 for Employment Eligibilty Verification.
The OMB control expiration date of the Form I-9 was stated to be August 31, 2012. But, USCIS has confirmed that the current form is still valid in spite of the expiration date. It will remain valid until informed otherwise.
USCIS is currently working on the new version of Form I-9, and it will update the information of the same as it becomes available.
For now, employers can continue using the current Form I-9.
It is necessary that all U. S. Employers have knowledge of the Form I-9 as they must complete the form for all newly-hired employees to verify their identity and authorization to work in the United States.
