Form I-9 still Valid

U. S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) provides Form I-9 for Employment Eligibilty Verification.
The OMB control expiration date of the Form I-9 was stated to be August 31, 2012. But, USCIS has confirmed that the current form is still valid in spite of the expiration date. It will remain valid until informed otherwise.
USCIS is currently working on the new version of Form I-9, and it will update the information of the same as it becomes available.
For now, employers can continue using the current Form I-9.
It is necessary that all U. S. Employers have knowledge of the Form I-9 as they must complete the form for all newly-hired employees to verify their identity and authorization to work in the United States.
Each and every employer must check the eligibility of workers for employment by verifying their documents containing expiration dates, as in case of H1-B and Employment Authorization Documents.
Using the correct version of Form I-9 is crucial for all employers. That is why, it is necessary to ensure the same against that on USCIS website.
