LEGAL REPRESENTATION AGREEMENT
This agreement between [client] and Reddy & Neumann, P.C., fully describes our obligations and responsibilities for the completion of the legal matter detailed below:
Preparation of a response to a Request for Evidence
These services will commence as soon as practicable after payment in the terms set forth below.
Reddy & Neumann, P.C. respectfully requests that [client] treats [his or her] responsibility for timely payment for Reddy & Neumann, P.C.’s services with the same level of concern that [client] expects Reddy & Neumann, P.C. to provide [client] while attending to [client]’s legal needs. To that end, [client] understand that [he or she] must abide by all fee and cost provisions of this agreement.
The total fee for Reddy & Neumann, P.C.’s services in this matter will be $2,500. [Client] agrees to pay this flat fee upon signing this document. If a consultation fee has previously been paid in regards to this Request for Evidence within the last 30 days, [client] may deduct the consultation fee from the total fee outlined above.
This legal fee includes all the services required to complete the filings described above, but does not include any additional work that may be required after filing. This additional work may include additional filing fees due to errors by a government agency; changes in case strategy necessitated by changes in the law or your personal facts; or other fees related to government agency delays or mistakes.
If additional work becomes necessary due to errors by the government, changes in the law or in [client]’s personal situation, that work will be handled via a separate Legal Representation Agreement.
2. Credit cards
As a convenience to our clients, Reddy & Neumann, P.C. accepts major credit cards for payments for legal services.
This flat rate includes legal fees, Reddy & Neumann, P.C.’s in-house costs, such as copying and postage and long-distance fees, but does not include third-party costs, including government filing fees, overnight delivery services, or expert fees, if needed. [Client] is responsible for third-party costs. All government filing fees must be paid in advance to Reddy & Neumann, P.C. prior to filing.
4. Safekeeping Advance Fees and Costs
Any fees or costs advanced to Reddy & Neumann, P.C. will be held in trust for [client] until used for the purpose it was provided to Reddy & Neumann, P.C.
5. Contacts and Communication
Mutual communication is important in the successful completion of these legal matters. Therefore, [client] agrees to promptly respond to all communications of Reddy & Neumann, P.C., and Reddy & Neumann, P.C. agrees to do likewise. Should [client]’s contact information change, [client] agrees to update that information immediately so there is no gap in communication.
6. Mutual Cooperation
[Client] also agrees to cooperate with Reddy & Neumann, P.C. to help with [client]’s own legal matter by completing any requested tasks, such as locating and providing important documents. [Client] also agrees and acknowledges that is important to remain truthful at all times and to be candid with Reddy & Neumann, P.C. to obtain the best results.
Reddy & Neumann, P.C. agrees to use its best efforts and understanding of immigration law to help [client] achieve [his or her] goals. However, Reddy & Neumann, P.C. cannot guarantee results. As part of its best efforts, Reddy & Neumann, P.C. agrees to provide zealous and diligent representation within the ethical boundaries of the legal profession. This includes timely communication with [client] as discussed above.
[Client] agrees to inform Reddy & Neumann, P.C. as soon as any communications are received from the U. S. government.
7. Client Satisfaction
While Reddy & Neumann, P.C. anticipates that [client] will be satisfied with the representation, Reddy & Neumann, P.C. encourage [client] to inform Reddy & Neumann, P.C. of any time Reddy & Neumann, P.C.’s professional services do not meet [client]’s expectations for any reason.
8. Dispute Resolution
In the unlikely event that a dispute arises between [client] and Reddy & Neumann, P.C., each party agrees to try to resolve the issues amicably between them. If that fails, [client] and Reddy & Neumann, P.C. will seek to arbitrate the matter.
9. Termination of Representation
[Client] may terminate the attorney-client relationship at any time and for any reason. However, such a termination does not absolve [client] of responsibility to pay for services or costs incurred prior to Reddy & Neumann, P.C.’s receiving notice of termination or incurred subsequent to notice but, in our view, reasonably necessary to protect [client]’s interests.
To the extent permitted by our professional conduct rules and applicable court rules, Reddy & Neumann, P.C. also reserves the right to terminate the attorney-client relationship at any time for any reason, particularly for nonpayment of any amount owed or if [client] fails to cooperate with Reddy & Neumann, P.C., including any failure to cooperate with any document request. Similarly, and again to the extent permitted by the applicable rules of professional conduct, [client] will remain responsible for the legal services and costs incurred prior to Reddy & Neumann, P.C.’s decision to withdraw or incurred subsequent to its decision but, in Reddy & Neumann, P.C.’s view, reasonably necessary to protect [client]’s interests.
Reddy & Neumann, P.C. and [client] each understand and agree to be bound by the terms of this agreement to provide immigration legal services.
