Overview

Kristina M. Hernandez is an attorney managing the non-immigrant visa (NIV) department at Reddy & Neumann, P.C. Her practice covers all phases of the non-immigrant visa process including filing H-1B, H-4, H-4EAD, TN, E-3, L-1 petitions, responding to Requests for Evidence (RFE), and drafting motions and appeals. She has completed over 300 RFEs to date in response to H-1B, L-1, TN, AOS, N-400, and OPT/STEM OPT applications. Kristina also has knowledge of the employment-based green card process (I-140s and I-485s) and has represented clients in employment-based green card interviews. Kristina provides legal and strategic immigration advice by helping clients to establish corporate immigration policies and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. She advises and trains employers regarding STEM OPT compliance and the I-983 Training Plan. Kristina has been invited as a guest speaker at universities regarding options available to international students after graduation. She has advised clients regarding their litigation options regarding unreasonable delays in adjudication, denials, and shortened approval notices. Further, Kristina advises companies and individuals regarding the I-485 process, including AC-21 portability, Supplement J, advance parole and EADs, and changing employers. Kristina has also conducted internal I-9 audits and has presented webinars in regards to I-9 compliance for HR Professionals.

Kristina earned her J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center in May 2011. Before entering the practice of immigration law, Kristina represented clients in personal injury suits, assisted in contract disputes, commercial and business litigation, and provided administrative counsel and litigation services for healthcare professionals across Texas. She has also participated in providing pro bono services for the Tahirih Justice Center and Houston Immigration Legal Services Collaborative to assist women and children with asylum claims.

Kristina is a Past President of the Mexican American Bar Association of Houston (MABAH), one of the largest Hispanic legal organizations in the state of Texas, and is currently serving as an Officer of MABAH. She has also been elected as a Fellow to the Texas Bar Foundation. Fellows of the Foundation are selected for their outstanding professional achievements and their demonstrated commitment to the improvement of the justice system throughout the State of Texas. The Fellows of the Texas Bar Foundation is an honorary organization limited to 1/3rd of 1% of Texas Bar members.
