Degree Fields Qualifying for OPT STEM Extension to be Expanded
The Department of Homeland Security will be publishing a regulation Friday, January 21, 2022 that will add 22 new fields of study to the list of degree programs eligible for the 24-month OPT STEM Extension. The update will take effect immediately upon publication and will make the STEM OPT program more widely available to F-1 students. The following fields and CIP codes will be added:
