USCIS Form Updates
USCIS has recently published notifications on USCIS Form Updates regarding several pertinent forms applicable to nonimmigrant and immigrant visa applications. It is important to be aware of these updates to ensure that there are no unnecessary processing preventable delays caused by submitting outdated forms.
Form I-907, Request for Premium Processing Service
The new edition for this form is the 05/31/2022 edition. As of July 1, 2022, USCIS has begun to accept only this new 05/31/2022 edition. USCIS has started rejecting and returning Form I-907 requests using the former 09/30/2020 edition. Please ensure to only file the updated 05/31/2022 edition of the Form I-140 moving forward.
Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status
The new edition for this form is the 07/15/2022 edition. Beginning on September 1, 2022, USCIS will only accept this new 07/15/2022 edition. From now until August 31st USCIS will accept either the former 03/29/2021 and 03/10/2021 editions.
Form I-129, Petition for a Nonimmigrant Worker
The new edition for this form is the 05/31/2022 edition. USCIS has begun to accept this new edition and is also still accepting the former 03/10/2021 edition in the meantime. USCIS has not announced the effective date on which the Service will only accept the updated 05/31/2022 edition of the Form I-129.
Form I-140, Immigrant Petition for Alien Workers
The new edition for this form is the 05/31/2022 edition. USCIS has begun to accept this new edition and is also still accepting either the former 05/09/2018 and 09/30/2020 editions in the meantime. USCIS has not announced the effective date on which the Service will only accept the updated 05/31/2022 edition of the Form I-140.
Form I-539, Application to Extend/Change Nonimmigrant Status
The new edition for this form is the 05/31/2022 edition. USCIS has begun to accept this new edition and is also still accepting the former 12/08/2021 edition in the meantime. USCIS has not announced the effective date on which the Service will only accept the updated 05/31/2022 edition of the Form I-539.
Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization
The new edition for this form is the 05/31/2022 edition. USCIS has begun to accept this new edition and is also still accepting the former 08/25/2020 edition in the meantime. USCIS has not announced the effective date on which the Service will only accept the updated 05/31/2022 edition of the Form I-765.
